Solar Panels have been becoming more and more common used device in modern life. As the critical parts in whole solar generating system,DC wire for solar panels plays a vital role in whole working process.

 

 

Introduction to solar panel

The cells in common solar panels are made of silicon wafers.  When the sun shines on them, the positive charges move toward one pole and the negative charges toward the other.  This creates a potential difference - a voltage - between the poles, which is connected to a load such as a resistor to form an electric current.  This current is obviously direct current.  

Of course, if we have special needs, we can convert this direct current into alternating current by means of an inverter. Another way is more traditional, where the coil is transferred in a magnetic field and the alternating current can be generated directly.  

The voltage of a single solar cell is generally 0.4~0.7V. The common solar cell module is 36/54/60/72/96 in series, and the voltage is about 18/27/30/36/48 VOLTS.  It should be noted that the voltage of the segmented cell is still the same as that of the single cell.  Because it is in series, the current of the monomer and the component is generally 4-5 amperes for the 5-inch battery, and 7-8 amperes for the 6-inch battery.  

The power of a 1 square meter solar panel is about 140-150W, which is a relatively fixed metric, but the daily illumination is a variable, rainy, cloudy, morning, evening......  In theory, 1 square meter of solar panels can generate 1.4-1.5 KWH of electricity in 10 hours.  

High-performance solar cell modules are installed on the roof through a bracket. After being connected in series and in parallel, they form a solar cell array. The solar cell array absorbs sunlight and generates direct current, which is converted into alternating current for home use by photovoltaic inverters and uploaded to the power grid.  

The main components of a complete solar panel system are: photovoltaic module, inverter, bracket, DC cable, AC cable, subsidy electricity meter, two-way electricity meter.    

 

How does inverter work?

Working principle of photovoltaic power inverter;  The direct function of the inverter is to transform the dc electric energy into AC electric energy. The core of the inverter device is the inverter switch circuit, referred to as the inverter circuit.  The circuit through the power electronic switch on and off, to complete the inverter function.  The on-off of power electronic switching device requires a certain driving pulse.  These pulses may be modulated by changing a voltage signal.  The circuit that generates and regulates pulses is usually called a control circuit or control loop.  Photovoltaic power inverter is characterized by high conversion efficiency, fast start, good safety performance, the product has short circuit, overload, over/under voltage over temperature five protection functions.

 

What is the DC wire for solar panels?

In the end there is a interested question relative to our daily life;

Can the connection between photovoltaic panel and solar lamp be lengthened by ordinary two wires?  

Of course, we should pay attention to the positive and negative poles can not be connected wrong. In theory, as long as electricity, whether direct current or alternating current, can be lengthened with ordinary wire, but lengthening will produce resistance loss, resulting in voltage drop.  So there's a limit to lengthening.
