How to prevent the occurrence of power cable fire?

Cables Fire disasters are everywhere in our lives. How can we do it to prevent problems before they happen?

(1) Tightly seal the cable holes and holes and set up fire doors and partition walls. In order to prevent cable fire, all cable holes that pass through walls, floors, shafts, cable trenches and enter the control room, cable interlayer, control cabinet, instrument cabinet, switch cabinet, etc. must be tightly sealed (tight, flat, beautiful, cable not be damaged).

Fire partition walls and fire doors should be set up for long cable tunnels and their bifurcations. Under normal circumstances, the door on the cable trench or hole should be closed, so that in the event of a cable fire, the scope of the fire can be isolated or limited to prevent the fire from spreading.

(2) Strip off the jute outer sheath of the non-direct buried cable. There is a layer of jute protective layer such as asphalt on the surface of the directly buried cable, which has a protective effect on the cable in the directly buried ground. Stripped to reduce the risk of fire expansion. At the same time, the cover plate above the cable trench should be well covered, and the cover plate should be complete and firm, and the welding slag should not easily fall into it, so as to reduce the possibility of cable fire.

(3) Keep the cable tunnel clean and properly ventilated. The cable tunnels or trenches should be kept clean, no garbage and sundries are allowed to be stacked, and the accumulated water and oil in the tunnels and trenches should be removed in time; under normal operation, the cable tunnels and trenches should be properly ventilated.

(4) Keep cable tunnels or trenches well-lit. The lighting in cable layers, cable tunnels or trenches is always kept in good condition, and special ladders are provided for tunnels and trenches that need to be up and down, so as to facilitate operation inspection and cable fire fighting.

(5) Prevent fire from entering the cable trench. When working with open flames near cables, measures should be taken to prevent fire from entering the trench.

(6) Regular maintenance and testing. According to the regulations and the actual situation of the cable operation, the cables should be regularly inspected and tested, so as to deal with the defects and discover the latent faults in time, ensure the safe operation of the cables and avoid the occurrence of cable fires. When entering the cable tunnel or channel for maintenance and test work, the relevant provisions of the "Safety Work Regulations for Electric Industry" should be observed.
