JZD Thhn Cable UL83 Standard

Published by Author: Joey Wan September 20,2023

THHN stands for Thermoplastic High-Heat-Resistant Nylon-coated wires that conform to the UL83 standard. These wires are made of stranded copper conductors that are coated with PVC insulation and a Nylon protective sheath that enhances their resistance to heat, water, oil, chemicals, and mechanical abrasions. THHN wires are ideal for use in commercial, industrial, and residential environments that require reliable and cost-effective electrical solutions.

One of the benefits of using THHN wires is their flexibility, which allows them to bend and twist without breaking or cracking. They are also easy to strip, terminate, and crimp, which saves time and effort during installation. THHN wires can be installed in conduit systems, raceways, or exposed in dry or damp locations. They are compatible with most electrical devices such as switches, outlets, circuit breakers, and transformers.

Another advantage of THHN wires is their high thermal rating. They can withstand temperature variations of up to 90°C, which makes them suitable for long-term use in hot environments. Their Nylon sheath also protects them from UV rays and moisture, preventing corrosion and degradation of their insulation properties.
