What is THHN wire ?

THHN wire is a new type of wire by reducing the insulation thickness of PVC and adding a thin nylon sheath on the basis of the original PVC insulated sheathed wire.THHN wire has better electrical and physical properties:like better heat resistance, low weight loss when operating at high temperatures, can improve the wire's instantaneous thermal overload resistance, and can slow or reduce the PVC component Escape or migrate,Light weight, low static friction coefficient and corrosion resistance, etc., can improve the safety and applicability in laying.And light weight, low static friction coefficient and corrosion resistance that can improve the safety and applicability in laying. The rated working voltage of THHN wire is 450/750V. THHN wires are widely used in household appliances, aerospace systems, architecture, lighting.

What are the characteristics of THHN wire?

 

Due to the nylon material sheath, THHN wire has good high temperature resistance, can be used for a long time at 200 ℃, and can maintain good mechanical properties and electrical insulation properties. And it has impact resistance and fatigue stability without cracking. THHN wires are good wear resistance and self-lubricity.It has good performance of anion ene, and it only burns and decomposes at high temperature, and does not catch fire. Therefore, nylon material is used to improve the surface of the wire. It plays a very good role in improving the quality, safety and applicability of construction engineering wires.

THHN wire is excellent mechanical and physical properties , its tensile strength is 5.5 times that of polyvinyl chloride, wear-resistant, and is known as "soft armored" wire. There is the following characteristics of THHN wire: ① Using nylon as the sheath, it has a bright appearance, small heat-resistant deformation, and excellent thermal stability. ② High mechanical strength and excellent wear resistance, cold resistance, surface hardness, bending strength, impact strength, wear resistance, chemical resistance, oil resistance, gasoline resistance and self-lubricating properties. ③ Compared with the PVC insulated electric cable of the same specification, the outer diameter is reduced (especially less than 10mm2), the weight is light, and the appearance is bright. It is easy to lay through the pipe, which brings convenience and economy to the installation and laying, and is welcomed by the construction personnel. ④ Because nylon itself has lubricity and low friction coefficient, it is convenient to lay wires through pipes, improve work efficiency and use safety. ⑤ Nearly half of building wires in the United States are nylon sheathed wires.
