What Is Armored Cable?

Cables with one or more layers of armored wires or tapes such as armored underground power cable 2 core, armored cable 3x240, armored cable 4core x 600qmm provide tensile strength during cable laying operations and protection while resting underground.

It should be noted that the bending radius of the cable should not be less than the minimum value specified by the manufacturer.

Steel fastened to the outside of a cable in the form of wire or tape.
If a single-layer armored wire is used, it is called a single-layer armored cable.
If two layers of armored wire are used, it is called double-layer armoring.

Armored wire
Different gauges of galvanized mild steel wire or high tensile steel wire or aluminum used to protect the cable and provide tensile strength to the cable.

Steel strip used to protect onshore direct buried cables.

When to use armored cable?

When transmitting power in harsh environments, cable protection is necessary for safe and reliable operation.
Copper armored cable 200mm, 95mm 4 core armored cable, 5 core armored cable are mainly used in industrial applications and usually run in cable trays and ducts.
 

They are generally not used for flexible applications.
