Application
THHN/THWN type conductors, installed through conduit in accordance with the National Electrical Code, are suitable for service in commercial/industrial systems, feeder and branch circuit wiring THHN type cables are suitable for use in dry environments where the temperature does not exceed 90°C.
THWN cables are suitable for dry environments with temperatures not exceeding 90°C, humid environments at 75°C or oil/cooling fluids not exceeding 75°C.
THWN-2 category cables are suitable for use in dry or humid environments where the temperature does not exceed 90°C, and in oil/cooling fluids where the temperature does not exceed 75°C. MTW cables are suitable for use in wet environments, in oil/cooling liquid with a temperature not exceeding 60°C, and in a dry environment with a temperature not exceeding 90°C (limited to the current carrying capacity of the 75°C conductor specified in NFPA79). In a dry environment where the conductor temperature does not exceed 105°C, the AWM type cable can be used as an equipment wire with a rated voltage of 600 volts.
