What is The Difference between Silicone Wire and PVC Wire

Published by Author: Joey Wan April 09,2022

The Features of Silicone Wire
silicone wire are high temperature resistance, insulation, flame retardant, acid and alkali resistance, aging resistance, weather resistance, high strength, high modulus, anti-static, and smooth appearance.

The Difference Between Silicone Wire and PVC Cable
PVC cable generally has a temperature resistance range of -15 ℃ - 80 ℃, while the silicone wire can reach the temperature range of -60 ℃ - 200 ℃. The PVC cable has a short service life, generally about two years, with poor flexibility and anti-aging. PVC cable is weak performance, easy to crack when exposed to sunlight, suitable for use in indoor lamps and home appliances. PVC cable is relatively hard, smooth surface, high brightness. The same specification of  PVC cable is much lower in cost than silicone wire. And its compressive strength is also higher than silicone wire. And the bending recovery ability of the PVC wire is poor.  Once it is bent and folded, it is difficult to restore the original appearance. The silicone wire also has shortcomings, such as poor tear resistance of the sheath and high manufacturing cost.

The Application of Silicone Wire
High-temperature silicone wires are used in electric heating appliances, paint booths, lighting equipment, lighting and household appliances, lithium batteries, new energy vehicles and other products.
