Connecting the Future, Powering Africa: JZD CABLE’s Successful Participation at Solar & Storage Live Africa 2026

From March 25th to 27th, 2026, the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg was abuzz with innovation. Shenzhen JZD Wire & Cable Co., Ltd. marked a significant milestone with our inaugural participation in Solar & Storage Live Africa 2026. The event was a resounding success, serving as a crucial platform to engage with the African renewable energy market and demonstrate the robustness of our product solutions.

Exhibition Overview: Exceeding Expectations

Over three dynamic days, our booth H5-G66 attracted a steady stream of professional visitors. Key metrics from our participation include:
  • Engagement with 200+ professional visitors from over 15 countries, including South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, and Egypt, encompassing project developers, EPC contractors, system integrators, and distributors.
  • Generation of 150+ qualified leads, with over 60% directly related to utility-scale solar PV and large-scale energy storage projects.
  • Conduct of 30+ in-depth technical meetings with potential clients, leading to clear directions for several customized product development initiatives.

Product Spotlight: Addressing Core Market Challenges

Our exhibition strategy focused on solving critical connectivity challenges in Africa’s unique environments. Our core product lines garnered significant attention:
  1. Solar Cable Series:
    • Highlights: We prominently featured our cross-linked polyethylene (XLPO) insulated cables with enhanced UV resistance, high-temperature (120°C) endurance, and ozone resistance.
    • Customer Feedback: Engineers from several large South African O&M companies highlighted that intense UV radiation and heat are primary causes of cable degradation locally. Our product specifications directly addressed these pain points, leading to immediate requests for samples for subsequent weatherability comparison tests.
  2. MC4 Connectors:
    • Highlights: Our full product line, certified to TUV / IEC 62821 standards, was demonstrated with a focus on IP68 waterproof rating, high current-carrying capacity, and low contact resistance.
    • Concrete Example: An Angolan installer specializing in distributed rooftop PV systems performed detailed on-site tests on the insertion/withdrawal force and locking mechanism of our MC4 connectors. Satisfied with the robust feel and superior sealing ring material, which they deemed better suited for their rainy season, they confirmed a trial order for 5,000 pairs for their upcoming 200-household community solar project.
  3. VDE Certified Battery Cables:
    • Highlights: We showcased our VDE-certified H07V-K cables with pre-assembled terminals, emphasizing their compliance with international safety standards, excellent flexibility for cabinet wiring, and the convenience and reliability offered by pre-installed, high-quality terminals.
    • Technical Exchange: A technical team from a South African energy storage assembler showed great interest. They were evaluating standardized, certified wiring solutions to streamline production and ensure consistency. Our pre-terminated H07V-K cables significantly matched their needs for internal cabinet connections, reducing on-site labor and potential errors. Samples have been dispatched for their verification in the final assembly process.

On-Site Engagement & A Concrete Collaboration Case

Beyond product displays, deep-dive case discussions were invaluable. A memorable case involved a contractor for an agrivoltaic project in Zambia. They needed cables for an off-grid system powering both irrigation and farm facilities, with a core requirement for cables to tolerate both outdoor exposure and occasional muddy water immersion. Based on their project layout shared at the booth, we quickly proposed a hybrid deployment framework using our UV-resistant solar cables and chemical/oil-resistant rubber-sheathed cables, sharing our experience from similar applications. This prompt, professional response led their lead engineer to schedule a visit to our Shenzhen factory the week after the exhibition to detail the solution.
