JZD Cable’s Type SER (Service Entrance) Cable is a robust, aluminum-conductor cable designed for reliable electrical power delivery in residential and commercial settings. This cable is constructed with compact stranded aluminum conductors, insulated with either XHHW-2 (XLPE) or THHN/THWN (PVC) materials. A key feature is its sunlight-resistant gray PVC overall jacket, which provides durability for outdoor runs. The cable includes an insulated neutral and a bare ground conductor, making it a complete solution for service entrance installations. It is rated for 600 volts and can be used in wet or dry locations at temperatures up to 90°C.

- Insulation Options: Individual conductors are insulated with high-grade Cross-Linked Polyethylene (XLPE) for XHHW-2 rating or Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) for THHN/THWN rating, providing superior electrical isolation and thermal resistance.
- Integrated Neutral & Ground: Includes an insulated, bare soft annealed neutral conductor and a separate bare soft annealed grounding conductor for complete circuit functionality and safety.
- Sunlight-Resistant Jacket: The overall gray Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) jacket is formulated to resist sunlight and weathering, making it ideal for outdoor exposure between the weatherhead and meter base.
- Voltage & Temperature Rating: Rated for 600 Volts. Suitable for use in locations where the ambient temperature does not exceed 90°C.

Application
- Main Service Entrance: The primary application is to convey power from the utility company’s overhead service drop to the customer’s meter base.
- Meter to Panel Feed: It is commonly used to run power from the meter base to the main distribution panelboard inside the building.
- General Above-Grade Power Distribution: Suitable for any application where the National Electrical Code (NEC) permits the use of Type SE cable, typically for above-ground power distribution.
- Outdoor, Aerial, or Exposed Runs: Its sunlight-resistant jacket makes it ideal for exposed outdoor sections between the weatherhead and the meter socket.
